Dear MendMeShop,

I have arthritis and bursitis in my left knee. I am allergic to IB Profin. I had my last of 3 cortisone injections last December and it really didn't help at all. I found MendMeShop thru a search on the internet and was skeptical. I purchased the Ultrasound Therapy System and I couldn't believe it but after the first treatment, I felt a difference. I wasn't able to use it 3 times a day per the instructions so it took a little longer then I wanted. Now, it's been about 4 months and my knee is about 90% better! I used in on my 90 year old mom's frozen shoulder and it also feels much better. THIS PRODUCT WORKS. THANKS MENDMESHOP!

More Rotator Cuff Facts:

The rotator cuff is a shallow 'ball-and-socket' joint where the humerus (upper arm) meets the scapula (shoulder blade).

2-5% of the population will experience Adhesive Capsulitis (Frozen Shoulder), most for no apparent reason.

Women and diabetics are common sufferers of Frozen Shoulder.

Ultrasound Therapy can greatly reduce the time it takes to move through the 3 stages of Frozen Shoulder.

Rotator cuff tears occur most frequently in men, ages 40-50, who do manual overhead work.

The most common tendon torn in the rotator cuff is the supraspinatus tendon.

A complete tear of the supraspinatus tendon will limit your ability to lift your arm at your side (abduct).

Ultrasound Therapy can improve the range of motion in the shoulder joint as it reduces pain.

Dear MendMeShop,

The very shallow shoulder joint has a "sac" or Capsule the surrounds it. The capsule has overlapping folds on it when it is not stretched by large shoulder movements. "Frozen shoulder" or Adhesive Capsulitis is the condition where the folds adherer to each other with scar tissue and then restricts the shoulders movement by not allowing the capsule to expand or stretch. This can be a very painful and frustrating condition to have. Performing friction therapy manually through the armpit to breakdown these adhesions is painful and invasive. I have been using the Mendmeshop Portable Ultrasound Unit to treat my patients with this condition and have seen excellent results. The ultrasound waves are perfect for breaking down the scar tissue that forms in-between the folds of the capsule. It is pain free and has an excellent medicated ultrasound gel that helps reduce inflammation. When combined with a regular stretching routine you can have measurable results in as little as 10 days. The unit is easy to use, has adjustable settings, and is portable so I can use it when performing massage on site at resorts and sporting events. Thank you for such this amazing product.

Dear MendMeShop,

I am a RNA (12 years now) who suffered a neck / shoulder strain injury about 6 months ago. Much of my work involves heavy lifting of patients that are unable to assist themselves, and I can attest that eventually the strain catches up with you. I was advised by one of our doctors to visit MendMeShop.com and I am thrilled to say that this company really wanted to help! I've never ordered online before, so I called the customer service line and order the ultrasound unit with extra gel. After about 1 week of my husband treating my shoulder and back, I found that I am finally getting a good night sleep and I'm no longer worried that I'll have to take a medical leave. I want to thank you for not only helping me, but also giving me the ability to continue my career. Sharon R. Seattle, WA

MendMeShop Treatment Instructions

At MendMeShop, we know that purchasing your healing devices has put you on the right path to healing. Following the treatment protocol below will guide you to use the devices correctly and help to reduce your pain and heal your injury properly.

The treatment protocols are recommended to achieve optimal results. However, if you are only able to fulfill part of the daily treatment schedule you will still see results; your healing time may just take a little longer.

All treatment protocol outlined below is a guideline only and not intended to replace a health care professional's advice.

The treatment protocol outlined below is the general recommendation for soft tissue injuries; however, everyone reacts to different kinds of treatment in different ways. You may realize that three ultrasound treatments are too much and instead choose to do it twice a day. Also, how much time you have throughout the day will determine your healing schedule. When combining treatments for example, a morning and evening treatment of Blood Flow Stimulation Therapy is recommended. However, if time in your morning schedule does not permit, similar results can be achieved in lesser time by having a 5-15 minute ultrasound treatment. You can then incorporate an Inferno Wrap® treatment later in the day (i.e. after work), when you have more time.

Freezie Wrap® Cold Compression Wrap Treatment Protocol

MendMeShop® Ultrasound Treatment Protocol

Inferno Wrap® Treatment Protocol

Combined Treatment Protocol - Cold Compression, Ultrasound, Inferno Wrap®

Freezie Wrap® Cold Compression Therapy

In the case of both chronic pain and acute related injuries, we recommend you use your cold compression wrap after flare ups or physical exertion to reduce any resulting pain and inflammation. Your cold compression wrap can be used any time throughout the day for an immediate response to pain, inflammation and swelling. Follow these instructions for optimal usage:

  1. To achieve optimum cooling effect, place the entire Freezie Wrap® in the fridge (at least 1 hour, longer if possible). Freezie Wraps® can be stored in the fridge so they are ready for immediate use.
  2. Wrap the Freezie Wrap® around the treatment area being sure to place the gel pack over the most inflamed or painful area wherever possible.
  3. Wrap as tightly as possible without feeling discomfort. Fasten the wrap to itself using the Velcro. It is important that you secure the wrap as tightly as is comfortable to enjoy the maximum benefits of compression therapy.
  4. Elevate the treatment area whenever possible and use pillows or bolsters to aid elevation.
  5. Rest if possible and wear your wrap for 15 - 20 minutes depending on the treatment area.
  6. Remove the wrap and return to fridge for future use.
  7. Allow the area to return to normal body temperature (approximately 45 minutes) before applying Ultrasound or BFST® treatments.

MendMeShop® Ultrasound Treatment

Refer to the Ultrasound Treatment Guide to help you determine the intensity level and length of treatment for best results. Initially, for maximum benefit, the protocol is to incorporate 3 treatments into your daily schedule for the first two weeks, followed in the third week with 3 treatments a day - every other day. During week four, take a break from therapy and allow your body to rest and you can evaluate your response to the treatment you have received. Week 5, begin the 4 week plan again.

Operating Instructions

To use your MendMeShop® Ultrasound read the following instructions carefully:

  1. Plug the power adapter into a power outlet/wall socket.
  2. Place a sufficient amount of conductive gel on the skin where you intend to apply the treatment, generally about 2 to 3 inches around, although this will vary depending on size of treatment area.
  3. Press the "timer" button (located on the handle of the unit) once to turn the unit on. The unit will now operate for 5 minutes at a low intensity as indicated by a red LED light by the "L" mark and the "5" mark on the handle.
  4. To alter the treatment time:
Press the "timer" button again to change the treatment time from 5 minutes to 10 minutes.
Press the "timer" button again to change the treatment time from 10 minutes to 15 minutes.
Once treatment time is set at 15 minutes, pressing the "timer" button again will turn the unit off. To turn the unit on again, push the "timer" button once more. Note: Please refer to the Treatment Guide to determine the correct treatment time for your specific condition.
  5. To alter the operating intensity:
Press the "mode" buttons to cycle through the low, medium and high operating intensities.
Note: Please refer to the Treatment Guide to determine the correct operating intensity for your specific condition.
Note: If you are treating an area directly over the spine, press the "pulse" button once. This will activate the "intermittent pulse" mode - a safer treatment setting for this area.
  6. Place the transducer head onto the area you intend to treat ensuring there is enough gel to create a seal between the transducer head and skin.
  7. Move the device in small circles over the treatment area; keep the unit in constant motion and avoid lifting or tilting the head away from the skin. If you notice the area heating up, apply more gel and keep the device moving more quickly. You may notice more heat near bony areas.
  8. To pause during use, please turn off the unit, do not continue running the device if it is not in contact with the skin.
  9. When the time you set has expired, the unit will turn off automatically.
  10. To manually turn off the device, press the "timer" button until it runs through the 3 time settings and shuts off.
  11. Unplug the device from the wall socket. Do not leave plugged in.
  12. Wipe the treatment area and transducer head with a clean cloth or towel and store the unit in its protective box in a clean, dry, climate-controlled environment.

Inferno Wrap® - BFST®

To get the most from your Inferno Wrap, use the device 2-4 times per day, for 30-45 minutes periods. Follow these instructions for optimal usage of your Inferno Wrap:

  1. Attach the temperature controller to the adapter provided; then attach the temperature controller to the wire coming from the wrap.
  2. Plug the adapter into your wall socket (120vac - North American power).
  3. Place the device so that the Energy Web® is directly around the area you will be treating.
  4. Wrap the device tightly, yet comfortably around your body and fasten the Velcro end to the wrap.
  5. Press the power button on the intensity controler to your desired setting (1=low, 3=high).
  6. The device will power up to high for the first 5 minutes to warm up the wrap and then adjust to the intensity you selected.
  7. We recommend treatment on the highest setting unless you experience discomfort. If so, reduce the intensity to a comfortable level.
  8. After your treatment is over (ideally a total of 30-45 minutes), press the power button until no lights are lit next to the power settings and unplug the device from the wall socket.

As your injury heals and the pain subsides, you will reduce the number of treatments per day. We suggest a treatment first thing each morning, to relax the damaged tissue and increase blood flow. A treatment before going to bed again will relax the area.

In the case of chronic conditions and inflammation, it is best to limit use to once a day only.

Leave at least 45 minutes between treatments and be sure that the area is at normal body temperature before beginning treatment.

Do not use any topical ointment on the treatment area up to 1 hour prior to treatment and ensure area is clean of gels, ointments before use to avoid skin irritation.

Combined Treatment Protocol

When used as individual treatment devices, you will receive pain relief and healing from all our MendMeShop® products. However, the combination of Cold Compression Therapy, Ultrasound and Blood Flow Stimulation Therapy® treatments will give you the best chance to recover from the nagging soft tissue injuries that negatively affect your life.

How to Combine Treatments

When you experience a flare up of chronic pain or immediately after (and up to 72 hours following) a common soft tissue injury, doctors recommend using cold compression. Cold Compression should also be applied when any re-injury or further inflammation occurs during the healing process. Your Cold Compression Freezie Wrap® provides you with the optimum device to treat with COMPRESSION and COLD and you are able to provide the REST and ELEVATION.

The next step is to use Ultrasound to reduce pain, inflammation and the amount of scar tissue forming. At this point in the healing process, combining Ultrasound with Inferno Wrap® treatments is recommended for optimal results. Combining 3 Ultrasound treatments with 2 Inferno Wrap® treatments each day for the first 2 weeks will reduce pain and scar tissue and kick start the healing process. During the third week, Ultrasound treatments are reduced to 3 times a day, every other day. Inferno Wrap® treatments may also be reduced to 1 per day depending on your body's reaction to the treatments. Finally in the fourth week of treatment, do not use Ultrasound but rather allow your body to rest. However, Inferno Wrap® treatments may continue.

Remember, this is only a guideline for general soft tissue injuries and your treatment schedule will depend on the location and severity of the injury as well as the time you have available for treatment. Please call our customer advisors if you have any questions.

An Inferno Wrap® treatment also beneficial for warm up before activity and during the cool down period following activity once your injury is healed and no longer inflamed.

Sample Daily Treatment Schedule

Once the initial inflammation has been reduced with your Cold Compression Wrap a treatment schedule similar to the one outlined below should be followed. (This is a sample only and adjustments can be made to suit your individual schedule.) As healing progresses, fewer treatments are necessary. Refer to the treatment guides provided with your products for further details or call our customer advisors. Pay attention to how your body is responding to the treatments, it can be your best guide.

7 am - Inferno Wrap® treatment (30-45 minutes)

10 am - Ultrasound treatment (5-15 minutes)

2 pm - Ultrasound treatment (5-15 minutes)

6 pm - Ultrasound treatment (5-15 minutes)

9 pm – Inferno Wrap® treatment (30-45 minutes)

The treatment protocols are recommended to achieve maximum results. However, if you are only able to fulfill part of the daily treatment schedule you will still see effective results.

Consult your doctor before beginning any treatments.

Rotator Cuff Injury Facts:

The term "rotator cuff" refers to a group of four tendons that attach four shoulder muscles to the upper arm bone.

About 6 million people in the U.S. seek medical care each year for shoulder problems.

The shoulder joint has the widest range of motion of all joints in the body.

Ultrasound Therapy can speed rotator cuff injury recovery significantly.

Continual repetitive use of the injured rotator cuff will lead to a worse injury.

Although the rotator cuff can tear suddenly as a result of a serious injury, most rotator cuff problems develop over time.

Dear MendMeShop,

Paul, The things I ordered from you seem to help and I am glad to have them. It has been really hot weather here so I don't use it as often as I should but it has relaxed the shoulder and I have a lot more movement. Thanks for your help, you speak the truth. I am telling others of your products.

Dear MendMeShop,

I didn't know Frozen Shoulder existed until my doctor diagnosed it 3 months ago. Then I kept hearing about friends brothers, parents, and friends of friends etc who had it and I was surprised at how common it is. Most of these people were plagued with it for months and months. I suffered for 1 month then ordered a wrap and ultrasound kit from your store. Once I started using them, I just kept getting better. After 3 weeks I thought my shoulder had more motion and less stiffness than it had had in many years. I'm better than ever now. Thanks for a great product, Jeff

Specialized Rotator Cuff Customer Service Advisor can help you with product selection.

Dear MendMeShop,

I spent 7 years in the gym walking one hour and working out. I lost 85 pounds in about 2 years with a lot of hard work and dedication. After I left the gym in 2008 due to it closing I started having problems about a year later. I recently had surgery on my left shoulder on Jan 4th of this year to shave down the bone to leave enough space for my shoulder joint to work. It seemed to be healing slowly, until I probably reinjured it trying to cut down a small tree. I went back to my Orthopedic Surgeon for my follow up and had to have a cortizone shot in June so I could be painfree while on a long awaited vacation. The shot lasted until September and had another shot October 26 with a warning from the Dr that if I couldn't get any better through therapy by Jan 6 2011 I would have to have the full surgery with my tendons and muscles sewn up to the top of my Rotator Cuff. I told him I don't want to go through the pain again, since I can't take pain medication due to my daily med I have to take for PTSD and can't take them both at the same time. So I did some research for the last 2 months and kept coming up with the MendMeShop Left Shoulder Inferno Wrap. I printed all the material and showed it to my OS and he said to try it if I think it will help me. I received it in 2 days last Friday and was out of town overnight. So I didn't get to try it until Saturday night. I tried it wrapped over a sweater with a thermal shirt underneath and the heat went right through and felt like I was at the physical therapist. The next day I did a few 60 minute sessions and I could feel my muscles ache a little bit, but NO PAIN praise God !!! I was buying a large tube of Extra Strength Muscle Rub with 16 % Menthol once a week to bear the pain along with 800 ML of Ibuprofen.Today is Thursday and I haven't had to put any rub on my shoulder since coming home Saturday night. This Inferno Wrap is incredible and is worth every penny. I am on Disability so I can't afford to waste a penny, but this purchase is becoming a lifesaver for me. Sometimes I just unplug from the charger, tuck the little 8 inch connector, then I tighten the wrap to make it a compression support and the heat stays in it for hours and allows me to be able to function a lot less painful since I am left handed also. If I could give it a 10 star rating instead of a 5 star I would. I will keep you all up to date a few times a week as I progress, along with any replies I might receive. Sun Nov 14, 2010 2:51 pm
